Bay Cities Paving & Grading

Bay Cities Paving & Grading is a Northern California General Engineering Contractor. They have built the roads and highways that support how we've lived and moved for the last 70 years. With 200+ employees - and growing - they were in need of a brand refresh and website that reflected their current business and would attract the next generation of talent. NK Interactive's collaborative efforts included a rich web experience, including freshly written content, stunning photography, elevated design systems, and a powerful CMS. The new web experience has already been instrumental in the success of the brand overhaul, and the company overall.

Subtle enhancements add new life to an established brand.

Bringing fresh energy to Bay Cities’ visual framework was a two part process: First, we set out to modernize and strengthen their existing logo through minor refinements. Seeing the transformation, they excitedly requested to see all new logo concepts for consideration. This happened because they weren't entirely sure if small updates to their logo were going to be enough. The all new concepts ultimately helped reorient them back to what was more comfortable for the brand, and thoughtful refinements were made to their established logo.

A major web overhaul sets the standard for taking a brand to the next level.

This website enhancement represented a monumental step for Bay Cities. Our collaborative meetings at the beginning of the project helped us refine the details of what was essential for the new site. With a top to bottom overhaul of the entire site architecture, we paved the way for new ways to storytell and engage. Prior to beginning work on the website itself, our brand strategist crafted all new brand messaging, which elevated the Bay Cities’ voice and layered their tone across key touchpoints.

The site UX goal was about ensuring simplicity, impact, and ease of use across the site. While we were wrapping up the brand identity portion of the project, we were simultaneously solving the new site map, preparing for web design concepts , and planning a photoshoot. With multiple project milestones in progress, Bay Cities was very attentive, which made for a wonderful partnership. All teams respected timelines, deliverables, and next steps. The project wrapped with awesome custom photography, beautiful page layouts, new code build, and fresh content, all housed in our custom WordPress CMS.

“In the digital landscape, where first impressions matter greatly, prioritizing investments in design, content and photography can make all the difference in elevating a website to its full potential. In the case of Bay Cities Paving & Grading, this was a natural and welcomed progression following their investment in brand identity evolution.”
