This brand strategy engagement took on added significance, as we were trusted to help define and launch a distinctive new business, serving a very exclusive clientele. Using insights gained from thoughtful discussions with TOS principals, and reinforced by targeted, qualitative research, we crafted a comprehensive brand positioning architecture inclusive of tagline, vision, mission, and positioning statements, core values, brand voice and key differentiators.

Through early discovery and asking the right questions, we aligned on TOS Builders’ goal of creating a simple and sophisticated mark. Their trust in our process allowed us to explore several directions, including steelmark-inspired ideas, monograms, and interpretations of the TOS acronym. We developed multiple concepts and presented each with a proposed color palette. The client’s enthusiastic and decisive feedback quickly led us to the strongest direction. A cropped portion of an I-Beam ultimately became the foundation for a modern, enduring mark that embodied TOS (or Top of Steel), and adapted elegantly across different use cases.

We refined the mark with purposeful structural cues and expanded the system with a considered palette and sophisticated typography. The brand was completed with comprehensive guidelines, business cards, letterhead, and field signage. The entire brand suite created a cohesive visual language that reflects the precision, craftsmanship, and elevated standards at the core of TOS Builders.

A thoughtful content strategy and development approach helped establish the right pacing for their story, while photography became essential in showcasing their range, craftsmanship, and design sensibilities. The design and user experience introduced purposeful moments of messaging, creating a simple yet expressive system that supports both clarity and depth. The lean overall site strategy is built for rich storytelling as the brand grows. This modular build includes a flexible CMS, where panels can be added or removed as content evolves, creating a progressive and scalable digital foundation.
