AGC of California

The Associated General Contractors of California (AGC of CA) have represented the full spectrum of the construction industry for over 100 years. Their ask of us was threefold - leverage their established brand guidelines and legacy to elevate their website experience, craft a user experience focused on members, and simplify their CMS workflow. Through in-depth, hands-on collaboration, we launched an impressive website and content publishing platform in short order, and received rave reviews from the client.

What We Did

  • Strategy
  • Copywriting
  • UX/UI Design
  • Development
  • Wordpress CMS
  • Landing Pages
  • Microsite Builder

Re-imagining a new digital experience for AGC’s members, and re-engineering a CMS for the AGC team.

In the ideal AGC of CA digital experience, site visitors should always be just one click away from locating key member information, regardless of the page they landed on. Our User Experience strategy was derived from extensive time listening to key AGC of CA department stakeholders. We realized that their problems stemmed from navigation issues, 3rd-party integration limitations, and an outdated brand strategy that ineffectively communicated to their audiences.

Following a comprehensive content audit, we realigned their departmental goals through a more effective site map. We also integrated a global “Quick Links” panel that now delivers curated member resources. Through a carefully crafted architecture that echoes their value propositions, AGC of CA can now take full advantage of sharing focused content, resources, and dedicated landing pages with their members.

“Working with NK Interactive was a seamless experience with incredible outcomes. They took our website vision to new heights, making it what AGC of California needed to continue working to move our industry forward and allow our members do what they do best: build California.”

A powerful CMS enables the creation of targeted landing pages and branded microsites to boost value for AGC of CA members.

AGC of CA had many great resources, but they were difficult to discover. Needing a creative way to deliver this content to their audiences, our team created destination resource pages that became dashboards to various landing pages. Our Landing Page Builder gave their team the ability to construct personalized pages on the fly, drawing from a library of pre-built component blocks. The result was a rich and cohesive visual experience.

Like most projects, AGC of CA’s needs began to expand once the project was underway. Our process and ability to listen to their pain points unlocked new ways of extending the design system, as we were building it. Within the CMS, we bolted on a Microsite Builder so they could extend the value and life of their design system. We also built a solution that enabled them to create custom microsites for events and future campaigns.
